Laura, inspired by colour and a strong affinity with the sea, creates exquisite cloisonne enamel jewellery and wall miniatures.
Cloisonné is an enamelling technique that has been used for centuries and involves using fine silver wire to make design cells which are then filled with coloured vitreous glass.
The glass resembles sand and is wet packed in thin layers with each layer then fired at 800C in a kiln until melted; her creative process can involve as many as 20 firings to achieve the desired depth of colour.
